The Conference Board Leading Economic Index for Mexico Increased in June

The Conference Board Leading Economic IndexforMexicoincreased 0.1 percent in June, to 120.7 (2004 = 100), following a 0.4 percent decline in May, and a 0.7 percent increase in April.
At the same time,The Conference Board Coincident Economic IndexforMexico, a measure of current economic activity, increased 0.3 percent in June to 115.4 (2004 = 100), following a 0.3 percent increase in May, and no change in April.
The Conference Board LEI forMexicoincreased in June, but its six-month growth rate continued to slow through June compared to the second half of last year. Meanwhile, The Conference Board CEI forMexicocontinued its general upward trend that started in mid-2009, and its growth has picked up somewhat in the last six months. Taken together, the behavior of the composite indexes suggests that economic activity will continue to expand, albeit at a moderate pace in the near term.
