City to Cut Ribbon on CDBG Reconstructed Home

The City of Valdosta will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m., at 920 West Street, located in one of the city’s Designated Revitalization Areas. Metro Valdosta’s Unemployment Rate Declines to 5.9% in September

The Georgia Department of Labor announced today that Metro Valdosta’s unemployment rate for September was 5.9 percent, down three-tenths of a percentage point from 6.2 percent in August. The rate in September 2014 was 7.2 percent.

Southeastern CU & Community Successfully Fill-a-Truck for Hunger

The communities served by Southeastern Credit Union have done it again, successfully completing the "Fill-a-Truck" for Hunger challenge. The equivalent of nearly 25,000 pounds of food was collected in September during Southeastern's second annual Fill-a-Truck for Hunger Food Drive, exceeding the community goal of 20,000 pounds.
