Horizons Announces Jennifer Johnston as New CEO

The Board of Directors of Horizons is pleased to announce the promotion of Jennifer Johnston to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
“Jennifer brings more than twenty years of experience at Horizons to the CEO position. She has led the organization as COO and CFO for the past sixteen years. We are thrilled to have Jennifer lead the organization forward and are excited she is taking on this role. Horizons has experienced growth in services and service area over the past five years and she will continue to be an outstanding leader of the organization's vision,” said Matt Reed, Horizons Board Chair.
Jennifer joined Horizons in 2005 and since then has assumed higher levels of responsibility, helping form the organization it is today. Her compassion for the mission of Horizons and the people it serves is a natural expression of her servant leadership character. Prior to joining Horizons, she worked at Merrill Lynch and the American Heart Association. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Master of Business Administration from Valdosta State University. Jennifer is a member of the LOCATE South GeorgiaLEADS class of 2017.
Jennifer and her family have been lifelong members of the Albany and Lee County communities. She has served as a Lee County Housing Authority Commissioner for the past 12 years and has been actively involved in the Lee County School System.

I am proud of the accomplishments the Horizons team has made over the last 20 years,” said Jennifer. “I look forward to continuing the good work of Horizons, working closely with our partners and supporters to create lasting, positive change in the communities we serve.”
