Monday, January 12th, 2026
SGMC Health announces the promotion of Hilary Willis to Executive Director of the SGMC Health Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the health system. In this role, Willis will oversee the Foundation’s strategy, stewardship, and community partnerships, driving philanthropic investments that fuel patient care, innovation, and access across the region.
Willis joined SGMC Health in January 2022 as Director of Annual Giving. In 2024, she was named Director of Development & Volunteer Engagement, where she began overseeing Volunteer Services and Hospitality Services, alongside programs of the SGMC Health Foundation.
The Foundation is currently advancing Groundbreaking Growth, a $25 million capital campaign designed to usher in a new era of healthcare in South Georgia. Guided by five strategic pillars—Access, Services, Medicine, Continuous Care, and Vision—the campaign is driving transformative projects that expand emergency and trauma services, strengthen maternal and infant care, increase access to specialty clinics, invest in rural health, and enhance medical education. Major campus initiatives include a new Emergency Department & Trauma Center, a state‑of‑the‑art Women & Infants Center, and a Wellness Park to serve patients, families, and the community.
Hilary Gibbs, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, will continue to provide strategic direction to the Foundation, ensuring that philanthropic efforts are aligned with the organization's long-term priorities.
"Hilary Willis has been an incredible asset to the SGMC Health Foundation, and I am looking forward to seeing her do even more in this expanded role," shared Gibbs.
Prior to joining SGMC Health, Willis served for 10 years at Valdosta State University in admissions and annual giving. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Speech Communication and a Master of Public Administration in Public Policy, both from Valdosta State University. She is married to Jeremy, and they have three children.
