The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG)’s WorkSource Georgia and the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) reaffirmed yesterday their shared commitment to strengthening Georgia’s workforce by helping unemployed Georgians transition into high-demand careers across the private sector.

For more than a decade, Georgia has been recognized as the Top State for business. In July, Georgia Labor Commissioner Bárbara Rivera Holmes announced that Georgia had reached a record 5 million jobs, underscoring the strength of the state’s economy and the opportunities available for Georgians seeking to enter the private sector. As the state’s economy continues to grow, Georgia is committed to assisting experienced workers with transitioning seamlessly into the jobs of the future.

The partnership between WorkSource Georgia and GDOL ensures that unemployed workers, including those impacted by recent changes in the federal workforce and among federal contractors, have access to the resources, training, and support needed to shift into high-demand , private-sector careers.

“Georgia’s continued economic success depends on connecting talent to opportunity,” said TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier. “Our partnership with the Georgia Department of Labor ensures that workers from every industry background, including those transitioning from federal service, can take advantage of the career pathways our Georgia businesses are creating.”

“Our priority is getting Georgians back to work quickly and effectively,” said Commissioner Holmes. “By aligning with WorkSource Georgia, we can provide tailored support that helps unemployed individuals reenter the workforce while meeting the needs of Georgia businesses.”
