The South Georgia Diversity Committee, in partnership with the Greater Valdosta United Way, is proud to announce a new $25,000 grant opportunity for nonprofit and community-based organizations serving GVUW 11 county region. This funding is designed to support impactful initiatives that help diverse organizations, mental health awareness, and the empowerment of underserved communities.

Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply for funding to enhance programs that drive measurable change, address disparities, and build stronger communities. The grant supports projects focused on youth development, family support, and mental wellness.

A recent example of the Committee’s commitment is its support of the 2025 Anchored Minds Summer Camp, which received a $3,000 grant to serve 15 children from Lowndes County. This fully funded, trauma-informed camp provided mentorship, mental health education, and critical family resources, creating a safe and enriching environment for youth navigating adversity.

“We are proud to invest in initiatives that bring real healing and transformation to our communities,” said A.C. Braswell, Chair of the South Georgia Diversity Committee. “The Anchored Minds Summer Camp is a powerful example of what’s possible when we prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of our children. With this $25,000 grant, we’re inviting more organizations to partner with us in making a meaningful impact across the region.”
