Wild Adventures Kicks Off Summer Fun
Wednesday, May 31st, 2023
Wild Adventures Theme Park and Splash Island Waterpark in Valdosta, Georgia are kicking off the summer by opening seven days a week, hosting big name concerts and staying open late on Fridays for the second year of Sweet Summer Nights.
“Everything we’ve done so far this Season has demonstrated our commitment to providing new and exciting ways for families to have fun,” said Jon Vigue, vice president and general manager. “From the debut of the all new Oasis Outpost to amazing new animal exhibits and incredible concerts, our guests have been making unforgettable memories all season. And those moments will continue all summer, starting with Sweet Summer Nights.”
Sweet Summer Nights returns for the second year beginning June 2 and continues every Friday night in June and July from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sweet Summer Nights features live music at the Water’s Edge Stage, a live DJ in Splash Island Waterpark, special $2 menu items throughout the park and special food and beverages, including a 16-inch funnel cake and more.
“If you’ve never experienced Sweet Summer Nights, you have been missing out,” said Vigue. “The park comes alive with a summer party atmosphere, amazing live music and extended park hours into the night. We are even making it super easy for non Season Passholders to join us for the fun with a discounted after 5 p.m. Sweet Summer Nights ticket.
Guests looking to visit after 5 p.m. on Friday nights in June and July can purchase a $19.99 Sweet Summer Nights ticket online at WildAdventures.com.
The Wild Adventures LIVE! concert series also continues this summer with performances from REO Speedwagon, Larry the Cable Guy, Barenaked Ladies, FOR KING + COUNTRY, Skillet and more.
Legendary Christian rock band Newsboys will perform on July 1 as part of Celebrate America Festival, June 24 through July 9. The event will also feature the Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular on July 4 and the Harlem Globetrotters Summer Skills Showcase, July 8 - 9.
“Celebrate America Festival is one of our favorite times of year at Wild Adventures,” said Vigue. “The whole park is decked out in red, white and blue, and we get to show our appreciation to those who have served by offering free military admission for the entire event.”
Also this summer, Wild Adventures will be unveiling more details and a new name for the park’s largest ever Christmas celebration. The event was announced in March as part of a multi-million dollar expansion that also includes a new RV park and campground that will open in 2024.
“The fun doesn’t stop at the end of summer,” said Vigue. “With a Season Pass, you can experience all the fun of summer and come back for Great Pumpkin LumiNights in the fall and a Christmas event that will be ‘wilder’ and ‘brighter’ than you’ve ever experienced at Wild Adventures.”
