Coleman Talley LLP, one of the Southeast’s premier mid-sized law firms with offices in Atlanta and Valdosta, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida, has reached the milestone of its 85^th year in business.

Founded by B. Lamar Tillman in 1937 in the City of Valdosta, GA, the full-service law firm provides legal services for Businesses, Individuals and Governmental Entities, and was recently named “Best Law Office” in South Georgia for the fourth year in a row. The firm is planning to the celebrate its 85-Year Anniversary throughout 2022 by sharing reflections on its history on its website and in other media and hosting, as well as internal and external appreciation events for clients and team members.

Coleman Talley employs 40 attorneys across its three offices while representing a broad range of clients across the Southeastern United States, and beyond. While the firm’s practices are wide-ranging it is especially well-known for its Government, Business, Real Estate, Housing, Litigation, and Wealth Management practices.

The foundation of the firm’s commercial transactional and litigation practices was established many years ago by the firm’s founding Partner, B. Lamar Tillman through his representation of Citizens & Southern National Bank (now Bank of America, N.A.), Georgia Power Company, the City of Valdosta, and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

The firm continued to grow and evolve with the additions of Lamar’s nephew, Henry Turner Brice, Jr. in 1960, and partners, John T. McTier, Wade H. Coleman, George T. Talley, and C. George Newbern in the 1960’s and 1970’s.

Since then, Coleman Talley has continued to expand its geographic footprint and areas of specializations. In 2005, the firm opened its Atlanta office and in 2007, changed its name to Coleman Talley LLP. It opened its first Florida office, in Downtown Jacksonville, in 2019.  The firm recognizes the exemplary leadership of those partners who have served in the role of managing partner through the years, Tom Kurrie, Bill Holland, Russ Henry, and Justin Scott.
