The residents and businesses of the greater Valdosta, Georgia area will soon have a new option when it comes to Internet, television and telephone service. Hargray Communications, a leading communications services provider in Georgia and South Carolina, announced today that it is bringing its fiber optic network to Valdosta.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael Gottdenker recently visited the area, speaking with local business owners about the benefits Hargray’s fiber optic network will bring. “We are thrilled to partner with the Valdosta community and appreciate the early support and commitment of the Langdale family as our business plans and network deployment proceeds, enabling Hargray to provide the fastest, most reliable Internet service to businesses and residents in Valdosta,” Gottdenker said. “In today’s digital economy, it is vital to have access to advanced communications services. Our state-of-the-art fiber optic network will connect directly to businesses and residents to ensure they receive the very best reliability and speed available today and into the future.”
Hargray selected Valdosta from among many other Georgia cities due to its vibrant business community, local leadership that is supportive of our investment, a welcoming local government, and the demonstrated need for advanced state of the art last-mile fiber optic services.
Among the people Gottdenker met were representatives from The Langdale Company, with which Hargray will partner to provide services to many of its ventures, including Kinderlou Forest Golf Course. After touring Kinderlou Forest, where Hargray is beginning construction of its fiber-to-the-home network, Jim Langdale, Executive Vice President of Operations for Langdale Industries, said, “It’s an exciting period of growth for Kinderlou right now. On the heels of completing home sites around a beautiful 40 acre lake, our newest phase will soon be the first in Valdosta to offer residents fiber optic cable to their door. The Langdale family believes that Hargray’s investment in building a robust fiber network in Valdosta makes our community a more desirable destination to live and work. People will see that we have the technological infrastructure they want and need, and they’ll make Valdosta home for their families and businesses.”
With so much reliance on the Internet, Hargray’s dedicated fiber optic network will provide businesses in Valdosta the fastest Internet speeds the region has ever had. This allows companies to grow as their business does, scaling their Internet service to meet demand.
