Staff Report From Valdosta CEO
Wednesday, July 6th, 2016
Guardian Bank is proud to announce that a new, convenient way to bank is coming to Valdosta.
In early August, Guardian Bank will be the first bank in the area to unveil cutting edge technology called Interactive Teller Machines. Guardian will be the third community bank in the state to deploy this technology.
The Interactive Teller Machines (or ITMs) will offer customers the ability to bank with a live person from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. There will be a live video feed for customers to transact business that is traditionally done in the lobby or bank drive thru like cashing a check, making a deposit, transferring money between accounts, or paying a loan.
“We are excited to provide our customers far more time each week to conduct their banking business,” said Parrish Clark, CEO of Guardian Bank. “People live busy lives, and banking should be convenient, which means something different to each and every customer. We are working daily to improve the customer experience and provide our banking services at the time our customers need them.”
The machines will be in the drive thru lane at Guardian Bank’s Wildwood Plantation Drive and Norman Drive locations, and the technology will be operated by ITM Specialists in Valdosta. Clark adds that was by design, “We’re a community bank. It is important to us that when our customers use the ITMs, they are greeted and served in a way that reflects the friendly, professional culture in our bank.”
While Guardian has a mobile banking app that allows customers to transact business from any smart phone or tablet, this technology is a unique solution for those who want to have a banker assist them.
“Some customers prefer dealing with a real person, and others prefer to bank online. Now we have a solution to accommodate both, with greatly expanded hours,” said Clark.
In conjunction with the launch of the ITMs, the bank is also introducing a Customer Care Center, which will offer extended customer service hours. The Customer Care Center will be open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
“Our customers will no longer have to rush to get to the bank or call before it closes. Most services will be available for 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days per week. We hope the combination of the new technology and extended service hours will enhance the customer experience and make banking easier and more convenient for our customers. We are very excited to introduce this type of banking to the community,” said Clark.
Guardian Bank plans to have a formal kickoff when the ITMs and Customer Care Center open. For more information, please call (229) 241-9444 or stop by one of the branches located at 701 Wildwood Plantation Drive, 246 Norman Drive, or 1914 North Ashley Street.
