2017 Southwest Georgia Bank Business Plan Competition Kicks Off

It is that time of the year, and the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce would like to invite all qualifying potential small business owners and new start up business owners to apply for the 2017 Southwest Georgia Bank Business Plan Competition.  If your business is new in the seeds or startup stages, a for-profit, independent venture this competition is for you!

Registration Packets for the 2017 Southwest Georgia Bank Business Plan Competition are available at all Southwest Georgia Banks locations, UGA’s Small Business Development Center, Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and the Chamber.  Packets can also be downloaded at the S.E.E.D.S. Center website www.seedscenterofsga.com or www.valdostachamber.com

Entering the competition puts your business in the running for $10,000 in start-up capital from Southwest Georgia Bank plus other in-kind donations from other generous angel investors.  This year’s winner THBoyd Communications, Thressea Boyd said “Winning the 2016 Southwest Georgia Bank BPC was incredible! Giving me the capital needed to get my business up and running!”

Do not miss this chance to make your business dream a reality! The business must be located in Valdosta-Lowndes County and must be able to employ university or technical college graduates.  The competition will be a six (6) month process where competitors are required to submit a business plan for judging.  Competitors are offered educational workshops to assist in developing their business plans.  There is no cost to enter the competition.

The Southwest Georgia Bank Business Plan Competition is an initiative of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with UGA’s Small Business Development Center, and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College to foster new business development that will raise the per capita income and better the quality of life in Lowndes County.  The competition seeks to cultivate new business development.
