Friday, November 8th, 2013

The Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce received news of its 5-Star Reaccreditation Wednesday, marking the second 5-Star score in the Chamber’s history.

The Chamber first became accredited in 1987 under the direction of Chamber President Johnny B. Lastinger. In 2004, with the leadership of Jud Rackley, the organization reached 5-Star Accreditation. Five Stars were awarded in 2008, a prized moment for leaders Walter Hobgood and James Bridges. The 2013 reaccreditation carries through 2018.

“We are so honored to be awarded 5-Star Reaccreditation by the U.S. Chamber,” said Jay Prince, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “This award validates how well the Chamber is performing its responsibility to its members. We will continue to be a leader for business advocacy, with recognition as being one of the nation’s premier Chambers of Commerce."

The 5-Stars, the highest mark given by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, rank the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce among the top 1% of local chamber organizations nationwide.
