Georgia’s Sole Baby Supply Bank Receives $90,000 to Help Families in Need

Helping Mamas, the only baby supply bank in the state, received a total of $90,000 from an array of foundations to continue to provide essential baby items and period products to families that need it the most.   

This strong outpouring of support from the community will help us provided tens of thousands of diapers and baby supplies to families in need,” says Helping Mamas CEO and Founder, Jamie Lackey. “The pandemic hit diaper insecure families the hardest and the grants will help ease the burden of providing for their babies.”  
In total, Helping Mamas received $50,000 from The Molly Blank Fund over the next two years to use for general operating costs. The Chestnut Family Foundation donated $25,000. Primerica donated $10,000 and the Frances Hollis Brain Foundation granted $5,000.  
The Molly Blank Fund: Established by The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation after the passing of Molly Blank in 2015 at the age of 99, the focus of The Molly Blank Fund’s investments is on programs that address the interests Molly Blank supported in her lifetime, including at-risk youth, arts and culture, and Jewish causes emphasizing social justice and interfaith coalitions.  
Chestnut Family Foundation: The Chestnut Family Foundation partners with nonprofits that have demonstrated compassion and creativity in improving access and choice for children through community-based programs, focused on the arts and health. The Foundation’s giving is based on a commitment to helping all children have access to resources that enable them to be healthy, develop self-confidence and mastery, and enjoy life. 
Primerica: The Primerica Foundation – the corporate foundation of the financial services company, Primerica, Inc. – is committed to supporting community causes that contribute to self-sufficiency for low- to moderate-income families and individuals.  

Francis Hollis Brain Foundation: Inspired by the lifetime legacy of giving of David and Frances Brain, the Frances Hollis Brain Foundation Fund at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta supports nonprofits that benefit vulnerable and underserved communities. The Fund addresses primary needs – food, shelter, clothing, and healthcare – to enhance the well-being of individuals and families living in Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties.
