Thursday, May 13th, 2021

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) today announced that Wittek Industries has invested $1.5 million in expanding their manufacturing operations to Lyons, Georgia. Wittek Industries is a leading golf course supply company that sells their products to driving ranges, golf courses, miniature golf courses, and pro shops. The expansion to Lyons will bring more than 50 jobs to Toombs County and will allow Wittek to expand on growing their custom flag and apparel departments.

“Demand for outdoor recreational sports and activities has increased dramatically this year, and we have continued to see that translate into quality advanced manufacturing jobs for Georgians,” said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. “I extend my sincere thanks to Wittek Industries for their continued investment in Toombs County, and for their long-term commitment to the community. Additionally, I appreciate our local economic development partners in Lyons and Toombs County for their leadership on the project.”

The Lyons facility will primarily focus on the company’s sewing, embroidery, silk screening, and dye sublimation processes. Golf flags, accessories, and apparel for the company’s national and global customers will be produced at this location.

“We are extremely excited about our expansion in Lyons. Not only does it allow us to provide jobs to the hardworking people in Georgia, but it will help Wittek Industries elevate to the next level,” said Gene Pruban, president of Wittek Industries. “We want to continue our growth and we know that the possibilities are endless with the brand new facility and equipment. We pride ourselves on investing in our business and employees, and our ‘promote from within’ mindset has allowed us to get to where we are today. We would also like to thank the city of Lyons, Toombs County, and the State of Georgia for being so welcoming.”

The company’s expansion to the east central region of the state will bring new jobs opportunities in screen printing, embroidery, sewing, and more. Individuals interested in careers with Wittek Industries are encouraged to call 847-943-3302 and email their resume to [email protected].

“The Authority is excited to share the good news of continued growth in the county’s strong manufacturing base with the new location of Wittek Industries to Lyons,” said Michele Johnson, executive director, Toombs County Development Authority. “The investment, job creation, and visionary leadership will have a positive impact on our community. It has been a pleasure working with the Wittek team thus far. We look forward to growing our relationship and enjoying many more successes together.”
