Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia becomes Legacy Behavioral Health Services

Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia, a provider of comprehensive quality mental health, addictive disease, and developmental disability services for 35 years, announces a name change to Legacy Behavioral Health Services.
 
“The new name reflects the organization’s longstanding commitment to the provision of high quality and affordable behavioral health services to the communities we serve”, states Pam Cartwright, CEO of Legacy Behavioral Health Services. Legacy has recently expanded to launch over a dozen new services, growing its workforce to over 400 employees.
 
Legacy functions within the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) community service board system and serves clients in Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Echols, Irwin, Lanier, Lowndes, Tift and Turner counties.
 
Legacy Behavioral Health Services currently operates nine group homes, four outpatient clinics, and five developmental disability centers, and numerous community- based programs. Additionally, the agency operates a behavioral health crisis center at 3116 N. Oak St. Ext in Valdosta, GA.  The crisis center accepts walk-ins 24/7 and combines short term residential crisis intervention and emergency receiving capabilities.
