April 17 | City Hosts Public Hearing for CDBG Annual Action Plan
The City of Valdosta will host a public hearing for citizens to comment on the Annual Action Plan on Tuesday, April 17, at 5:30 p.m., in the Valdosta City Hall Annex, Multi-Purpose Room. The hearing will provide citizens with information on the proposed usage of the Community Development Block Grant funding for FY2018. Read more.

April 17 | Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority Meets
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority will meet on Tuesday, April 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at 103 Roosevelt Drive. See city calendar.

April 18 | Hospital Authority Meets
The Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County will meet on Wednesday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., at the SGMC Executive Board Room, located at 2510 N. Patterson Street. See city calendar.

April 19 | City Council Meeting/ Announcement of “If I Were Mayor” Essay Contest Winners
Mayor John Gayle will announce the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the “If I Were Mayor” sixth-grade essay contest at the City Council meeting, among other city business. The meeting will begin on Thursday, April 19, at 5:30 p.m., at Valdosta City Hall, located at 216 E. Central Avenue. See city council agenda.

April 20 | Back to School Collaboration Meets
If you held a Back to School Drive in Valdosta or Lowndes County, attend the back to school collaboration meeting on Friday, April 20, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., in the City Hall Annex, Multi-Purpose Room, located at 300 N. Lee Street. To register, call 229-671-3617. See city calendar.

April 21 | Great American Cleanup
The Great American Cleanup, hosted by Keep Lowndes-Valdosta Beautiful, will take place on Saturday, April 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in several locations around the city. The event gathers volunteers from the city and the county to pick up litter along sides of streets and other public places. Volunteers are needed and welcomed. April 21 | Outdoor Family Movie Night
Bring the family to watch "Finding Dory", beginning at 7:30 p.m., on Valley Street behind the Historic Courthouse. Admission is free, and concessions may be purchased on site. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. See city calendar.
