Drivers who travel state Route 125 from Lowndes to Berrien counties should plan for a Georgia Department of Transportation resurfacing project tentatively scheduled to begin Tuesday.

The Scruggs Co. of Hahira will resurface 5.7 miles beginning north of Hightower Road in Lowndes County and ending at SR 11/37 in Ray City in Berrien County. There are no time restrictions on the contractor and the work is anticipated to be done between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The project is expected to take about four weeks to complete, depending on weather. This is a $1.1 million project.

The Southwest Georgia DOT district maintains 3,600 miles of state routes in a 31-county area.
