Hargray Communications announced that it has connected its first customer to Gig internet speeds on its 100 percent fiber network in Valdosta. The law firm of Dover Miller Karras & Langdale, P.C. is officially the first business to receive the Gig speed offering, with more expected to sign up over the coming weeks and months.

“This is as exciting for us at Hargray as it is for the businesses in Valdosta,” said Hargray Chairman and CEO Michael Gottdenker.  “Fiber infrastructure is unmatched in terms of its reliability and bandwidth, and we’re honored to provide this unprecedented service and support to Valdosta businesses to help them grow.”

With the core of its network construction in Valdosta complete, Hargray has begun moving new business customers onto its network. The Valdosta-based law firm of Dover Miller Karras & Langdale, P.C. is one of almost 100 area businesses to select Hargray’s network capabilities but it is the first to connect at Gig speeds.

“Everyone at the firm is amazed by the difference in quality and performance in our Internet connection now that we are connected to Hargray’s fiber network,” said J. Michael Dover who has practiced law and been an active part of the Valdosta community since 1970. “You can really see the difference a Gig makes in all of our daily activities – both in and out of the office. The ability to work anywhere will make our business more productive, and I’m certain other businesses in the area will see the value in that.”

Hargray is continuing an aggressive expansion across Georgia, including recent investments in Valdosta, Macon and Lake Oconee.  In addition to providing Gig speeds as Valdosta’s only 100 percent fiber network, Hargray offers a robust suite of communications services including television, phone, business continuity and managed services.
