Press release from the issuing company

Thursday, October 30th, 2014

During November, South Georgia Medical Center is offering four programs geared to educate area men on common health issues. The panel presentations each cover a different medical specialty and provide opportunities for area men to ask questions to SGMC affiliated physicians.

The events will be held in the SGMC Smith Northview Campus Cafeteria, 4280 N. Valdosta Rd, from 6pm to 7pm.  There is no cost to attend. The sessions begin on November 4 with a panel of orthopedic surgeons: Paul Lane, MD; Michael Clark, MD; Brook Bearden, MD; Matthew Heaton, MD and Curt Starling, MD.  On November 13, a panel of cardiac experts include: Trey Powell, MD; Glenn Evans, MD; Doug Luke, MD; and Randy Brown, MD.  The following Tuesday on November 18, a podiatry/vascular panel will include: Pearce Futch, DPM; Nic Dodson, DPM; Devin Daugherty, DPM; Tim Pitts, DPM; Rodney Raker, DPM; Andy Woods, DPM; and Vascular Surgeon Maurice Solis, MD. The last panel on Thursday, November 20 will feature urologists Mike Chiang, MD; Jacek Sosnowski, MD; and David Sule, MD.

SGMC CEO Randy Sauls said, “The physicians are generously donating their time to provide this open forum for health information. I encourage men in our community to be educated on these important health topics. Too often, men not only fail to get routine check-ups or preventive care, but often ignore symptoms or delay seeking medical attention when ill or in pain.”
