GDOL to Co-Sponsor Career Expo Next Week in Valdosta

The Georgia Department of Labor’s Valdosta Career Center and several other local organizations will co-sponsor a career expo next week in Valdosta. The expo will be held Tuesday, April 22, from 1-4 p.m. in Brooks Hall, Building 500, at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, 4089 Val Tech Rd.

Other expo sponsors include the South Georgia Employer Committee, Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, and Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency.

The expo will feature more than 40 employers that will be hiring or discussing future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational and other resources. Applicants must bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available jobs. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities to be hired.

Those expected to participate in the expo include: Army & Air Force Exchange (AAFES), Affinity Building Systems, Ambassador Personnel, Art Institute of Atlanta, City of Valdosta, Convergys, DeKalb County Police Department, DeVry University, Elead1one, Flava Beauty Salon, Florida Department of Corrections, Four Star Freightliner, Gwinnett County Police Department, Hillsborough (Fla.) County Sheriff’s Office, Home Depot, Lanier County Board of Education, Lowe’s, New Hire Solutions, Rescare Homecare, Saft America, Sam’s Club, South Georgia Medical Center, Teamtemps Personnel Staffing, Triden University International, Troy University-Albany, Valdosta Fire Department, Valdosta Police Department, Valdosta State Prison, Valdosta State University, Wal-Mart, Walden University, Wild Adventures Theme Park, and Wulff Enterprises.
