Tifton Continues Growth

Tifton's proximity to Interstate 75 not only brings in visitors from all over the country, but also boosts the economy.

Thousands of vehicles pass through Tifton on I-75 every day.  The goal is to get the travelers to stop and stay in the friendly city.

"Our motels and hotels have just gone bonkers. If you look over there by the interstate, we've almost got all new hotels, new motels. It's super. People do stop here and they do stay," said Mayor Jamie Cater.

Interstate 75 has been widened into three lanes, providing a safer route, and more traffic.   "This seems just to be the perfect stop. You know at one time we had more exits than Macon, Georgia did off the interstate," said Cater.
