Georgia Car Insurance Cost 17th Highest in Nation

Georgia ranks near the top half of the most expensive states for car insurance premiums across the United States.

Median annual auto insurance premium in Georgia rose to $1,632 year, the 17th-most expensive in the nation. Bankrate Inc.’s CarInsuranceQuotes.com. report tabbed median household income at $55,209, with car insurance cost the average Georgia household about 2.96% of annual income.

In other states, Michigan ranks as the most expensive auto insurance market with the median annual premium is $4,490, or 8% of the median household income. Rounding out with the lowest was Massachusetts, with median annual premiums of annual income costing $1,128, or 1.42 percent. North Carolina is the cheapest based on median annual premiums, at $860.
