Mayor Matheson Joins Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber in Welcoming ‘The Collective’ to Downtown Valdosta

Friday, March 5th, 2021

On Wednesday, March 3rd, Mayor Scott James Matheson joined the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the latest addition to Downtown Valdosta, ‘The Collective.’ The Collective is a flexible co-work office space with an innovative atmosphere. They offer nine state-of-the-art, completely furnished, private office suites completed with a fully functioning kitchen and dining area.

Considering the current state of the world, The Collective is a smart and efficient way to work outside of a traditional office setting, freelance, or kick start your small business. IDP Properties, located in the office immediately upstairs to The Collective, recently decided to open the space up in hopes that it will bring business to Downtown Valdosta and allow the surrounding business to expand.

Rhett Holmes, President of IDP Properties, says, “We think The Collective will add a lot to downtown. We are hoping to bring at least 15 to 20 people in daily to work in the building. Hopefully, that extra traffic will help the retailers and restaurants in the area as well. ”

Though the specific amenities offered at The Collective do change depending on the membership type they consist of:

  • A fully furnished workspace

  • Set hours of monthly access to the conference room

  • An allotment of monthly printing

  • A business mailing address

  • A virtual membership option
