Local Manufacturing Leaders Attend Manufacturing Growth, Tools for a Stronger Business

Nearly 60 CEOs, presidents, directors, vice-presidents, general managers, plant managers and other leaders in the manufacturing sector attended Manufacturing Growth, Tools for a Stronger Business, the 3 Imperatives for Achieving Organizational Excellence.

The 2-hour event was held at Wiregrass Technical College on Thursday, August 11, gave insight on Organizational Excellence and how employers can achieve it.

“The purpose of this event was to offer training, networking and learning opportunities for the existing industries in Valdosta-Lowndes County, “said Stan Crance, Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority (VLCDA) Existing Industry Coordinator.  

Attendees were able to learn how to understand the theory of organizational excellence and how they can improve their company by capitalizing on the combined strengths of each employee.  Mike Stonecipher, Project Manager, Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership at Georgia Tech discussed the three key enablers that are critical for achieving highly desired levels of performance. The 3 key enablers were transformational leadership, organizational alignment and accountability.  

“It is important to hold luncheons and trainings like these to help our existing industries prosper and succeed, “said Crance. “Our industries are an essential part of what makes Valdosta and Lowndes County successful, we are glad they choose to do business here.”

The event was sponsored by Georgia Tech Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority and Wiregrass Technical College.
